Shipping & Packaging

We offer free domestic (U.S.) shipping on all orders over $50! 

• We ship our jewelry through UPS 2-Day for orders over $50 and USPS Priority Mail for orders under $50 as well as Perfect Fit Ring Sizers and Silhouette Boxes.
• A signature from an adult (that is, someone 21 years old or older) will be required upon delivery if your total purchase amount is $3,000 or more and sent to a residential address or $35,000 or more and sent to a business address. Otherwise, we use signature confirmation. We’d hate for you to incur any rerouting fees, so, if necessary, please ensure you provide a shipping address where an adult will be present to sign for your package. 
•  If you need to, feel free to have your package delivered to your workplace or a friend’s house. As long as an adult is present to sign for your package, we can ship it to any permanent address.

Important Note: For security and insurance reasons, we are unable to ship to a PO Box, hotel address, or freight forwarding company and we have to handle all shipping communication (i.e., changes in shipping information, rerouting, etc.) on your behalf. So please let us know if any changes need to be made. Any reroutes made must have the same zip code as the original address. 

In some locations, you can request your package be held for pickup with UPS. Once we confirm that they are able to hold your package, the pickup location provided will be at the discretion of our shipping partner. Due to Insurance restrictions, our packages cannot be held at a specific store. However, we can request our shipping partner hold your package for pickup at one of their secure locations nearest your provided address.

All domestic orders are fully insured, door to door.

Orders will be shipped via FedEx International Priority, and customs and broker fees will be the client's responsibility upon delivery. Your customs office can estimate these charges for you.

All international clients are responsible for any and all shipping costs and customs charges. Many countries require VAT/import fees at customs before delivery can be completed. The buyer is solely responsible for payment of these customs fees.

For international shipping, we do not always have the option to choose whether a signature is required.  When we can choose, we require an adult signature (that is, someone 21 years old or older) for shipments of $2,500 and over and a direct signature for all other shipments. Please make sure your shipping address is correct and that an adult will be present to sign for your package if necessary. Again, if your package is returned to us for any reason (whether you weren’t available at the time of delivery, or because the customs fee wasn’t paid, or any other reason), you will receive a refund for your order minus the shipping fee, minus any import/customs fees, and minus a restocking fee for the item(s) you purchased.

When shipping internationally, packages must go through customs. While most countries will allow FedEx to use their in-house broker, if you are shipping an order to France, please be aware that only French brokers can clear your shipment. When your order arrives in France, FedEx will get in touch with you to confirm the French customs broker of your choosing to complete the customs clearance and deliver your shipment. 

France clients, Please note: you are responsible for obtaining your own French broker but we are happy to provide a list of recommended brokers upon request. Melanie Casey does not cover any of the costs associated with the brokerage service. If you do not secure a broker and the package does not clear customs, or if the recipient refuses the delivery, your package will be returned to our studio. This is outside of our control. Once we receive it, we will refund you for the returned order minus any shipping or customs fees, which can be high and delay your refund. Because of this complication, orders shipping to France will not enter our production queue until you have confirmed with our Customer Care team that your broker has been secured and you are prepared to pay the associated costs. We will reach out to you via email after your purchase has been completed to detail the next steps. Please also note that currently our shipping to France is limited to pieces under $2,000. Thank you for your understanding!

For returns and repairs, we will specify that the purpose of the shipment is “Return and Repair,” and we will also include an Alteration Declaration form. Even if your country claims to not charge fees for this service, the possibility remains that they will charge anyway. The buyer is responsible even for those fees because they are completely out of our control.

With your package, you’ll receive a receipt that indicates your order number and some order details. The purchase price will not be shown.

Your jewelry will arrive in a gift-ready jewelry box or pouch, depending on the piece and the box selection you make at checkout.

We have two different packaging options. We offer our signature big, beautiful acrylic box for any unboxing that merits a little extra flair. Our acrylic box is only available for purchases of $700 and over. If you prefer understated packaging, select the eco box at check out. It’s significantly smaller than the acrylic box, but is just as lovely and 100% recyclable. If you’d like to add an extra level of customization to any ring, we have velvet ring boxes available for purchase in a variety of different colors.
